DidaDot will host Facebook Applications |

DidaDot has begun work on Facebook applications, and will be hosted through this site.
The facebook applications will be created using the Microsoft Facebook Developer kit.
The Facebook SDK from Microsoft works inside Visual Studio Express editions and is available for asp.net VB or C#.

Google Launches Lively |

Google, last week launched Lively, the rival to Second Life. Google Lively
allows users to setup their own avatar, and explore or create their own virtual
world. Currently the Avatar selection is limited, in that the user can only
choose from a few pre-configured avatar models. Lively does allow users to
integrate their virtual worlds into popular social sites such as Myspace.

Your own bookshelf on the internet |

Another web 2.0 site that caught my eye is Booktagger.
Booktagger which is currently in beta allows users to post the books that they own and create their own virtual book collection. Including details on the books as well and cover art. you may proudly display your own book collection. Users are also allowed to view others bookshelves and read about other books, as well as search by and tag books based on keywords.

Microsoft Aquires WebFives |

Microsoft has aquired yet another multimedia sharing site. Webfives is a sleek looking site that is a mixup of videos, photos, music, blogs, and more. Including free profile pages for users, that show all videos and view counts, Webfives allows users to easily find what they are looking for without having to sift through countless videos and unrelated pages.

Keeping in our theme of sites that can be used for holiday shopping. Jellyfish is a site where users can search for not just information, but rather actual products.
With an familiar and easy to use interface Jellyfish allows shoppers to see price ranges at multiple stores on the product that they are searching for. With cash back on many purchases Jellyfish is one more tool to help shoppers this season.
